THE OWL The owl, it sits, stalking its prey from the tree top. It's mottled brown and light gray help it blend with the scenery. Its penetrating yellow eyes that glow in the dark help it see through the velvet curtain that is night. Suddenly, a movement?! Yes, a movement in the underbrush. Now, silently, and as quietly as can be, I spread my wings and soar over the bush. Annnnnd... a gleam of my claw like a thousand unrelenting swords in the still night. A fight ensures, yet, as always I come out on top. I quickly fly the kill back to my nest where my children ravenously await their meal. I beat my silky, silent wings and sneak home just before the young ones wake....

Humming Birds Once there was a white and orange Humming Bird. He had the cutest chirp you ever heard. He soared like a little buzzing car. And when he stopped he didn't get too far! Each afternoon he would tweet at the sound of my giant clumsy feet Years have passed now he is all grown I visit the spot we used to roam. I stare at my feet. Can't help but weep. Why do some friends fly away?

"Blue Birds" Sitting on top of a wire. Sitting proud and strong. He swoops down with his plumpy belly. To satisfy his hungry tummy. Two unpaired males in the air. With a brutal chatter sound. Their striking chirps lasting two full minutes. A female feels frightened And sings a harsh song. While all scared predators Move along.

Blue Bird Poem Blue bird's can fly, blue birds can eat. Blue birds are animals that feed their young with their beak. Bugs are there favorite things to eat. You can find them under a rock or in a tree. They are smaller than an eagle, But bigger then a bee. They love to sing just like me. I can't fly but I wish I could. If I could fly then I would hang with the blue bird's ohhh I wish I could. Kari-anne
