Before your next class:
Think about how you might use Threaded Discussion, Blogs, Wikis or online Journals.
Clip-art
1. Look ahead to Clip-Art. Practice making your own clip-art using Adobe Photoshop,
Photoshop
Elements or whatever image editor equivalent you are using at home. Keep in
mind
your plans for your mini-project #2 and also your midterm
project.
The latter will require the inclusion of original clip-art (It doesn't have to be pretty; we just want to be sure you have tried your hand at an image that is not a protograph)! What
kinds of graphics do you think will be useful for the pages you might
make
in the future? You might want to look at Laura
McCanna's tips for making interesting web graphics.
2. Optional: Once you have become proficient at making your own
clip-art,
try saving some of them as transparent GIFs, using the directions on
the Creating
clip-art page. Again, check out Laura McCanna's pages for ideas.
Sound editing
1. Try your hand at sound editing using Audacity, or Adobe Audition,
Acoustica or any program you wish. Record
an original sound and also take a recording from another source and
experiment
with the steps on the sound editing page.
Especially Capture, Center wave, Normalization, Save as mp3.
2. Keep in mind your upcoming projects, and when you are
satisfied
with the editing job you have done on the sounds you have chosen, be
sure
to save them for future inclusion in your projects.
