LESSON TITLE:  Pasatiempos interviews (speaking lesson)

LESSON SKILL TARGETED: Speaking

CLASS LEVEL: Spanish 1 (during the activities unit)
 
 
 TARGETED STANDARDS
1.1-  Interpersonal communication
1.2-  Interpretive communication
1.3-  Presentational communication

I. OBJECTIVES:
(1.1)  Students will interview to partners in Spanish.
(1.2)  Students will create a chart to organize the information.
(1.3)  Students will present the information to the class.

II.  MATERIALS:
   - Overhead of interview questions
   -Venn diagram
   -Overhead projector

III.  PROCEDURES:
    1.  On the overhead, show students the four interview questions used in the listening activity. (See listening lesson).
        What is your name?
        What are your favorite pastimes?
        Where do you practice those pastimes?
        When do you practice those pastimes?

    2.  Students are placed in groups of three.  Each student interviews their partners and completes the Venn diagram to compare and contrast the pastimes.

    3.  One all three are done interviewing, they will share the results of the interview with the class.  We will create a list on the overhead of pastimes that are common of the class as a whole.
