Extra Credit Opportunity
Investigate Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and why it was moved in 1993 to
its current location. Write up a summary explaining why the light house
was moved, including, but not limited to:
its original distance to the sea,
its distance to the sea after the 1993 move,
the cost of the move,
the rate of sea level change in North Carolina near the lighthouse,
and how long until it will have to be moved again.

Be careful not to just copy and paste the webpage…that would be plagiarism and you would get into big trouble.
Turn your summary into me by 4:00 PM Friday December 5, 2008. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I will accept them early.
If I'm not in my office when you want to turn it in, just slip it under my office door (Bowers room 325).
This is worth one in-class assignment.
So, if you are missing assignments due to unexcused absences, this will replace one.
If you have all the assignments in, you will get an extra one added to the in-class portion of your grade.
This works out to about 1% of your total semester average.
