The Cortland Psychophysiology Laboratory (CPL) is a psychology research laboratory located at the State University of New York College at Cortland. CPL faculty share common goals of providing special study in psychology opportunities and laboratory experiences for SUNY Cortland students who are majoring in psychology and related social-behavioral science disciplines. Faculty-student research collaborations are expected to result in an original intellectual contribution to the scientific literature.

Laboratory Facilities
The Cortland Psychophysiology Laboratory (CPL) was designed to facilitate studies that require the measurement of physiological responses to visual events. Specifically, it was designed for event-related research requiring time-series analyses. Equipment and software, designed by James Long Company(Caroga Lake, NY) include EEG and EDR; STIM Auditory/Visual Stimulus Presentation and Laboratory Control System, and analysis software that supports both spectral analysis and ERP.

CPL Researchers
Our research group represents the areas of social, personality, cognitive, and quantitative psychology. Collectively, the goal of our research is to further scientists understanding of attention and emotion in terms of their physiological manifestations. Our research group is primarily interested in individual differences associated with attention processes, psychological resiliency, and the role of emotion/personality in the development and maintenance of social networks. The CPL professors are quantitative methodologists who are also interested in issues that raise concerns about research methods, construct validity, psychometrics, and biometrics (e.g., response coherence).
