RADIO JOURNALISM ACTIVITIES:

Jorge Luis Romeu has been program producer/director for Sobremesa, La 
Voz del CID short wave radio station, and a correspondent for Morning
Edition at WAER, Syracuse public radio station. He is also a frequent
participant of Mesa Redonda of Radio Marti short wave station. For
details of these and other activities, read below.
 
1) PRODUCER/DIRECTOR: PROGRAMA SOBREMESA. 
   Sobremesa is a short wave radio program broadcasted through LA VOZ 
DEL CID (Cuba Independiente y Democratica) every Sunday at 10 pm, on
6030 MH in the 31 M. Band. Its Motto is "tolerance is the key issue in 
a pluralistic society". The program discusses current event issues in 
the world and Cuba, reviews the press mainly The Economist (British 
weekly magazine) and carries out personal interviews about literature, 
art, politics, etc. Sobremesa is a cultural magazine and would like
to follow the example of "Universidad del Aire", the radio program
created by Dr. Jorge Manach, in Cuba, in 1932. Sobremesa ran between
1994 and 1998, when La Voz del CID station closed its doors.

2) WAER PUBLIC RADIO STATION: SYRACUSE NY,
   Romeu was producer/reporter for monthly eight-minutes segments of
Hispanic-based news for WAER Morning Edition. His programs covered
various aspects of Latino life in Central New York.

3) FREQUENT PARTICIPANT: RADIO MARTI.
   As a frequent guest of several Radio Marti/VOA Programs, (e.g. 
Mesa Redonda, Ventana al Mundo, etc) Dr. Romeu discusses current events 
with other participant specialists in the areas of Mexico, Latin America
and on public institutions in the United States.

4) FREQUENT PARTICIPANT: VOZ DEL CID.
   As a frequent guest of Debate, a weekly program of La Voz del Cid,  
Dr. Romeu discussed Cuban current political and economic issues with the 
program moderator and station director, Mr. Angel de Fana. 

5) FREQUENT PARTICIPANT: WHCU ITHACA, NY.
   As a frequent guest of Casey Steven's Talk Show, Dr. Romeu discusses, 
in English, current events on Cuba and Latin America, for Central New York
radio audiences.
