The Special Events committee is in charge of planning and coordinating the biannual SPMG Club field trip.  Once each semester, the club goes on a trip to learn more about the business of sport management and catch a professional game.  A lot of planning goes into these trips, and the Special Events committee makes the contact with the organization and sets up the outing.  With External Relations, I update the alumni and internship contact database so that future students looking to intern somewhere can see what associations have already been made with the college.

Hey, my name is Liam O’Connell, and I am the chair of the Special Events and External Relations committee of the Sport Management Club.  I’m actually one of the few out of staters here at SUNY Cortland, coming from the small town of Hadley, Massachusetts.  As for other on-campus involvement, I am the President of the Men’s Club Soccer team and the Co-Coordinator of the Lose the Shoes soccer tournament.
