Studies have shown thatteachers both in the United States and Canada have received relatively littletraining concerning ADHD. Given the epidemiological studies, and the teachers'own observations of frequent contact with ADHD students both diagnosed andsuspected in their classroom, this is regrettable. In-service training wouldhave to include outside professionals, in particular physicians, if this problemis going to be satisfactorily addressed. (Jerome, 1994)
