Work on project 2

Come as close as you can to finishing project 2 by next class; presentations will be the following week. There is very little that is really new in the second project. Sounds & Forms. Remember that you need to have a pedagogical focus, include an edited image and also edited sound as well as form elements. All will be clearly labeled on your flowchart, and all used to support your pedagogical goal - IOW not just decorative.

As in your first project, be careful to make sure that your flowchart reflects the way that one can move through your site. Since there are multiple ways to move through the site (which there should be because it cannot be linear), your flowchart needs to indicate these paths correctly.

Review the SWBAT from the Identifying pedagogical goals and objectives lesson.

Be sure to think about how the STYLE lesson should apply to your work. Visual elements should support your pedagogy by focusing student attention.

Take some time to think about how you can use form elements and sound to enhance your lesson. IOW How will they contribute to your pedagogical objectives, providing real language practice to engage your students?

Style

1.  Read the page on  style and digest that information.

2.  Explore at least one link on the bottom of the page for further enlightenment vis-a-vis elements of style, fonts, colors, etc.

3.  Find a New York Times (or similar newspaper) and take a look at the inside or special sections that tend to pay attention to style.  These sections are typically "Arts & Leisure," "Lifestyles," and the like where much white space, graphics, lettering, and text are used.  Study the layouts of these pages and pay particular attention to the elements of style that really make the page work.  The people who make these pages are professionals;  learn from their work. 

4.  Experiment with these new elements to enhance your web pages, thinking about both project 2 and your project 1.  Go back and look at your first project and come up with at least one way you could improve it by incorporating stylistic changes.
