Hi Katina and Lin Lin,
Congratulations! We are the Educational Technology Search
Committee. I'll be serving as chair.
Our first task will be to attend a Search Committee training which will
include how to use the online employment system and the rules and regs of
conducting a search. Lori will help us schedule a meeting time that works
for Cindy, us, and Wendy McAllister of Human Resources.
Secondly, we will need to develop a rubric sheet which contains all the
required and preferred qualifications. We will use this to review the
applications.
We won't be able to complete the reviews until at least Dec. 1st, as that
is the date in the ad. However, as the applications come in we can
complete the rubric for each application. These reviews will be
independent.
We will also need to develop phone interview questions and on campus
interview questions and have them approved.
After Dec. 1st we will meet to narrow down the pool and decide on
candidates to phone interview, and from there, narrow the list for on campus
interviews (usually 2 individuals), conduct reference checks, and then make
recommendations on the candidates. At each level of the process we will
need approvals from Cindy, the Dean and Human Resources.
Hopefully our timeline will be:
Dec. 2 meet to decide on candidates to phone interview. Phone candidates
prior to the end of the semester. Make reference checks and invitations
during break and plan for on campus interviews during late January, or early
February.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Beth

While we are born with curiosity and wonder
and our early years full
of the adventure they bring,
I know such inherent joys
are often lost.
I also know that , being deep within us,
their latent glow can be
fanned to flame again
by awareness and an open
mind,
