Dear Colleagues:

We have been given permission to recruit two faculty positions: 1) Assistant or Associate Professor--Generalist in Curriculum and Instruction
and 2) Assistant Professor in Assessment and Research Methods.  The position announcements are described below.

I am writing to ask you to serve as a member of one of the search committees.

The committees are as follow:

Generalist Search:
Emilie Kudela, Chair
Susan Stratton
Shufang Shi

Assessment/Research Methods:
Kim Rombach, Chair
Judy Ouellette
Lin Lin

I have asked Judy Ouellette (Associate Professor in Psychology) to serve as an outside member for the second committee, due to her expertise in research methods and assessment.  Each committee has one new faculty member, one with 2 year's experience, and one who is a tenured Associate Professor.  If you would like to re-assign or share the chairing duties after your first meeting, please let me know.

You may or may not be aware of the new procedures for searches--all applicants submit their materials online, and the committee members can access those records electronically.  The procedures for searches will be explained at a meeting with a representative of Human Resources.  In addition, Lori Crandall will be a staff member of both of the searches to provide support for interview procedures.  She has always done this, but will be extra helpful in assisting us with the new electronic system.

Please let me know if you are unable to serve.

Lori will be in contact with you to set up a meeting in the next week.

Thanks so much for this critically important service work.

Cindy
