Notes for the week of February 19, 2007

Here are the notes from this past week in class:

In class, we spent some time discussing students' field experiences whole group. Each class, we'll spend about the first 1/2 hour discussing students' field experiences.

We also spent some time reviewing answers to the following questions: (1) How do you organize a literature review? (I've included an example of a lit. review on the assignments page of this site for students' reference); (2) When observing students, what do we look at? (3) When observing  teachers, what do we look at? (4) Action Research: What is it?; (5) What needs to be done for a literature review and (6) What are the types of educational research?

In class, we also reviewed why and how to complete an IRB application for your future action research project. I spent time showing an example of my own IRB application that I am currently using while conducting a study of my own. Students can access a copy of this on this website on the assignments page.

That's all for this week. Keep reading, Keep learning and keep coming to class! ~Kim
