Project #7: Microsoft Publisher:
Use Desk-top Publishing Program to Enhance your Classroom Activities

- A joint Project for EDU314 and EDU373

Please refer to Week 11 Publisher Class Schedule

What?

Use MS Publisher to create two products: a brochure and any other publication of your choice. Both products need to be related to teaching. Publish these two products to your eportfolio website, AND HAVE FUN!

You are going to create two products using MS Publisher.

Product #1 Brochure

Product #2 Any publication of your choice

This project is also a joint project with Ms. Ellen Newman's EDU373 Math Night Project; or Dr. Davidenko's EDU 373 Math Project (newly updated blueface)

Why?

Although Microsoft Word is an immensely capable word-processing application, it is less suited for creating desktop publishing documents that require precise layout control and object formatting. Microsoft Publisher is a very popular program that teachers use to create flyers, posters, newsletters, cards, labels, signs, and other documents that help organize the classroom.

Being able to use the desktop publishing program Microsoft Publisher will enable you to create eye-catching calendars, newsletters, flyers, brochures and programs. Publisher 2003 complements writing and learning activities in your classroom and can help you expand the visibility of your class/school events and activities.

Project Ideas

The requirements for both products are that they need to be related to classroom activities and/or schools events.
