Onondaga County
Civil War Units 12th N.Y. Vol. Inf. Reg. - Co. E Recruited principally in Syracuse |
This is a roster of Company E, copied from page 406 of Clayton's History of Onondaga County, 1878. It should be noted that this roster was probably taken from the initial muster rolls from 1861. That a person's name is missing from this list does not necessarily mean he was not in the unit. (For at least one such addition check at the end of the list.) A more complete compilation can be found in pages 1212 of New York (State) Adjutant-General's Office Annual Report for the Year 1899. No. 19. Albany, NY: J. B. Lyon, 1900.

I present here an entry from Annual Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of New York for the Year 1899, Serial #19; James B. Lyon, State Printer, Albany, N.Y.; 1900.
It is the data for James White, one of those who served in the regiment but who was apparently not in the initial enlistment group. His great-great-granddaughter left an entry in the guest book March 27, 2002
