Work with Students:
Research Assistants: Undergraduate students at SUNY Cortland can earn valuable research experience by serving as a research assistant (either as a volunteer or for credit). Typical duties involve participating in infant recruitment, data entry and analysis, scoring videotapes, and attending the research visits. Students are also encouraged to design and work on their own individual projects.
Teaching Assistants: Undergraduate students at SUNY Cortland can earn valuable teaching experience by serving as a teaching assistant (either as a volunteer or for credit). Typical duties involve taking notes, holding office hours, grading exams, and assisting with grading papers.
For Field Study experience: Limited internship experiences are available in the field of animal rehabilitation/rescue and animal-assisted therapy. These internship opportunities are appropriate for students interested in animal behavior, animal psychology, and/or the relationship between animals and human health. These internships will benefit students who wish to work in the areas of animal services (veterinarians, animal trainers) and/or human services (counselors, creative arts therapists, recreational therapists, ecopsychologists).
