A complete Web Authoring System for Linux desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Nvu (which stands for "new view") makes managing a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML (Cited from NVU Homepage).
Nvu is open source and it is free. You can download Nvu at no charge. If your computer is Windows most likely you will need to click and download nvu-1.0-win32-installer-full.exe - Windows full installer.

WS_FTP : web publishing tool

There are lot of FTP programs. Some are free and some are not. The FTP program Installed in the computer labs Bowers Room 119 Lab and Van Hoesen Hall Room C21 Lab is WS_FTP v.6. It is suggested that you come to these two labs to do the uploading of your works. You can check the Computer Lab Access to these two labs.

For lab information, contact Academic Computing Services at ext. 5793. The Computing Services indicate that that Van Hoesen Hall Room C21 Lab is "open 24 hours during the fall and spring semesters", sand the Bowers Room 119 Lab (and other labs) "are generally available when the building is open and when not in use for teaching."

If you want to buy and install this program to your own computer, here is the link to the website: http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp/index.asp

You can also download other FTP programs to your own computer if you choose not to go to the computer labs on campus to upload your works. Herer are the links to either buy or free download FTP programs.

WS_FTP download: http://www.ipswitch.com/Products/WS_FTP/ (buy); you can also find the link on that website to try it for free for 30 days.
