Commissary Sergeant Lucius H. Hoyt (Co. I)

The scans of this CDV were sent to me, February 7, 2002, by Reed Van Orden Maloney, who is a great-great-grandson of Lucius H. Hoyt. The images appear with his permission.

"Comissary Sergt – Troop I 12th N.Y. Harris Light Cavalry. Enlisted Sept 1863 for 3 years or the war – was taken prisoner at Deep Gully, Newbern N. Carolina. Was a prisoner of war – from Sept 1864 to March 1865 – Parrolled in the field Wilmington, N.C. was confined in a stockade at Florence S. Carolina – weighed 90 lbs with a Government overcoat on – was over 2 years getting well"
