SPM 370 Pre-Intern Seminar: Sport Management

A detailed analysis of the management and marketing of sporting goods companies and sport retail businesses including e-commerce in sport-related enterprises. Students will study trends, display, target marketing, marketing demographics, cus¬tomer service, and the basic functions of selling and managing a retail business operation. Purchasing, inventory control, cost and price analysis, supplier relationships, offshore procurement, and quality and ethical considerations will be examined.
SPM 470 Internship in Sport Management

Development and analysis of internship and career goals including an exploration of characteristics of the profession in relation to personal and professional goals. Emphasis on development of a professional portfolio. Professional ethics and etiquette will be explored.
